Chiang Mai International Rotary Club is proud to announce that CMIRC has been named Grand Winner for Best Rotary Public Image Campaign 2025–2026 at the Rotary Public Image Awards for Zones 10B & 10C.

CMIRC is pleased to share that the club is currently preparing a nomination for Yoshimi Horiuchi and the Bookworm Foundation for THE ONE International Humanitarian Award 2026.

Suksawat Company, eight Rotary Clubs of Chiang Mai, friends, and volunteers collaborated to assemble and donate 85 sets of desks and chairs for schools. The project brought together the Rotary Clubs of Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai Nawarat, Chiang Mai Phuping, Nakornping Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai International, Saraphi, Doi Suthep, and the Chiang Mai Regional Office.

The CMIRC Charity Golf Ball Drop 2026 brought energy, excitement, and community spirit to January 31, 2026, as it took place during the Chiang Mai Expats Club Annual BBQ & Family Picnic at Horizon Village & Resort Chiang Mai.

Northern Thailand continues to face a serious air pollution crisis, with forest fires, agricultural burning, and PM2.5 pollution creating hazardous conditions across the region. For many families, this is no longer an occasional seasonal inconvenience. It has become a public health concern that affects children, older adults, people with health conditions, workers, schools, tourism, and the wider community.

CMIRC is supporting Rotary International District 3360’s Safe Road Save Lives Project, an important initiative focused on road safety education and helmet protection for students. Recently, President Owen Hodgson was invited to serve as a judge at a lively Spelling Bee competition that brought together 69 students from 13 schools across Chiang Mai.

On July 26, 2025, members of CMIRC joined Rotary leaders and fellow Rotarians from District 3360 for an important training and planning session: “GMS, My Rotary, Set Goals and Brand Center Year 2025–2026.” The event was held in Lamphun Province, at the Rapeeleart Wittaya School. On June 21, 2025, the District 3360 Presidential Installation Ceremony welcomed Rotarians from 17 Chiang Mai-area clubs to the stunning Khum Kham International Convention Centre to mark the beginning of the 2025–2026 Rotary Year.

The Chiang Mai International Rotary Club (CMIRC) operates with limited funds, but thanks to the generosity of past members who remembered us in their wills, we’re able to support specific causes when the need is urgent. The recent 7.7 magnitude earthquake near Mandalay, Myanmar, is one such situation.

Over two weekends, students at the Akha Oral Tradition School in Ban Saen Suk, Chiang Rai, Thailand, took part in a dynamic 4-day Digital Storytelling Boot Camp, led by BBC reporter and producer Clare Lyons. Through this engaging course, students learned the fundamentals of photography, filming, creating a compelling story arc, editing, and sharing their work on social media — all using mobile phones. The focus? Their very own Akha culture.

In May 2025, Jojo’s Sanctuary celebrates 9 years of dedicated service to low-income families in Chiang Mai. Our mission is centred on family preservation, with a threefold focus: Educate, Protect, and Empower. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in a loving family—not an orphanage—and we work to remove the barriers that separate children from their homes.

While CMIRC continues vital work like vision screenings and swim safety lessons for children, we must also consider a quieter — yet equally urgent — danger: noise-induced hearing loss.
