Bookworm Foundation Mobile Library Visit: Three Countries, One Shared Purpose

A recent visit to Phrao offered a beautiful example of Rotary friendship in action, as CMIRC joined with the Rotary Club of Tokyo Hiroo and the Rotary Club of Jeju Island in support of the Bookworm Foundation and its mobile library outreach.

The visit highlighted the power of an international partnership built around one shared purpose: creating opportunity for children through education, literacy, and service.

During the visit, the group traveled with the mobile library to a primary school, where a small blue pickup truck transformed into an open-air library filled with colorful books. As shelves unfolded and stories became available, children gathered eagerly around the vehicle, excited to explore and read.

The moment was simple, joyful, and deeply meaningful. A library that travels to children is more than a creative idea; it is a reminder that access, imagination, and hope can be carried directly to communities. The visit also reflected Rotary’s ability to strengthen friendships across cultures while supporting practical, locally rooted initiatives.
