As we enter the month of October, a time when Rotary International continues to inspire service and fellowship around the world, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the remarkable journey that has brought Rotary to where it is today in Thailand.

Welcome to the start of our new Rotary year - and what a start it’s been! We’ve dived right in with something big: our application for a Rotary Program of Scale - worth $2.5 million - has been officially submitted. If successful, it’ll be a huge step forward in expanding our impact and reach. Glenn Pfaff has done a great job preparing the Concept Note and coordinating the team from Thailand and the USA.

There’s a sign on a coffee shop I walked past this week that read: “The best way to make dreams come true is to wake up.” Unlike our club, they hadn’t woken up so I couldn’t buy a coffee. But our club is wide awake. We wake up every day to fulfill our mission: to improve child safety, health, and education in the communities we serve.

As we approach the end of the Rotary year, I find myself reflecting on the many milestones we’ve shared and the meaningful connections we’ve built, both locally and internationally. This past month, we enjoyed a lovely joint dinner with our friends from CEC at Wine Connection for our third Tuesday meeting. It was a great opportunity to relax, connect, and celebrate our shared service ethos in good company.

Dear Fellow Rotarians, I hope this message finds you well and full of enthusiasm as we look back on an inspiring month of service and collaboration. I am pleased to share some wonderful news that reflects the power of Rotary’s international fellowship. The 2 Global Grants, initiated by Rotary clubs on Jeju Island South Korea, have been lodged for approval.

As I write this message, I’m currently traveling through Japan and Korea, where I’ve had the pleasure of meeting with fellow Rotarians and even attending a meeting with the Halim Rotary Club on Jeju Island, South Korea.

As we reflect on the past month, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your dedication, hard work, and commitment.

A belated welcome to a new year, this is a time to reflect on all the great achievements we’ve had together as a Rotary Club.
