President's Message For June 2026

As my year as President comes to a close, it is a good time to reflect on what we have achieved together. The Rotary theme for this year, “Unite for Good,” resonated strongly with me. From the beginning of my presidency, my goal was to strengthen unity within our own club while also building closer relationships with Rotary clubs across Northern Thailand. I believe we have made real progress towards that goal.

Throughout the year, we have supported fellow clubs by contributing to their Global Grants and have built lasting friendships through District and local Rotary events. The support CMIRC received from neighbouring Rotary clubs and District 3360 for our Programs of Scale application showed how strong those relationships have become.

As a club, we continue to achieve a great deal, even though we are smaller than many clubs around us. That success is entirely due to you: our members, volunteers, donors, partners, and supporters. Your commitment, generosity, and willingness to serve make everything we do possible.

The District Awards received by CMIRC this year recognise your dedication and the impact you make in our community and beyond. Whenever I speak to Rotarians from outside our District about the work of CMIRC, they are genuinely amazed by what our club accomplishes. I always tell them that our greatest strength is our people, and I could not be prouder to say that you are truly amazing.

Thank you for the confidence, encouragement, and support you have given me throughout this Rotary year. It has been both an honour and a privilege to serve as your President. I look forward to continuing to serve alongside you and to another successful year under the leadership of Co-Presidents-Elect Usar Suragarn and Glenn Pfaff.

During the Rotary International Convention in Taipei, a delegation of 23 Rotarians from District 3360 and Phuket attended a special fellowship event hosted by Rotary District 3501. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow Rotarians, strengthen friendships, and share ideas across cultures. CMIRC was represented by Co-Presidents-Elect Glenn Pfaff and Usar Suragarn, and we sincerely appreciate the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended by our Rotary friends in Taiwan. We look forward to future opportunities for friendship, exchange, and collaboration.

I will leave you with a quote that I have often returned to during the year: “Those who move forward with a happy spirit will find that things will always work out.” It reminds us to approach every challenge with optimism and purpose.

And, of course, let us never forget our club’s addition to the Four-Way Test: “It will be fun.” May that continue to guide us as we work together, serve together, and enjoy the fellowship that makes our club so special.
