CMIRC is supporting Rotary International District 3360’s Safe Road Save Lives Project, an important initiative focused on road safety education and helmet protection for students.
The project includes lectures on road safety and a helmet distribution ceremony for students. Its goal is to promote safe driving habits, raise awareness of responsible road use, and help protect young people from preventable injuries.
Road safety is a critical issue in Thailand, especially for children and youth. Motorbike accidents remain a major cause of injury and death, and helmet use is one of the simplest and most effective ways to reduce risk.
This work connects closely with the mission of Helmet Heroes Thailand, a community-driven initiative founded by Pattaya resident Rick Brown, together with partner Max Kimberley-Thompson. Helmet Heroes Thailand provides free, safety-certified motorcycle helmets to children, helping protect some of Thailand’s most vulnerable road users.
Rick’s commitment is deeply personal. After experiencing a life-changing accident in his youth, he became determined to help prevent similar tragedies for others. When he saw children riding motorcycles in Thailand without helmets, he knew he had to act.

What began in December 2023 with just three helmets has grown into a much larger mission. Helmet Heroes Thailand aims to provide safety-certified helmets to children across Thailand, with the long-term goal of reaching one million children. By early 2025, the project was nearing 1,000 helmets distributed.
The initiative works with partners including the Rotary Club of Jomtien-Pattaya, local police, businesses, and sponsors. Helmet distributions are more than giveaways. They include education, helmet fitting, and conversations with children and parents about the importance of road safety.
The Safe Road Save Lives effort and Helmet Heroes Thailand both reflect Rotary’s commitment to practical, life-saving service. By combining education, partnerships, and direct support, these initiatives help build safer communities for children and families.
