Recently, CMIRC President Owen Hodgson was invited to serve as a judge at a lively Spelling Bee competition that brought together 69 students from 13 schools across Chiang Mai.
The event showcased not only the impressive English language skills of the participants but also their confidence and determination under pressure. After several intense rounds, the top honors went to a talented student from Darunpattana School, who proudly claimed the winner’s title.
President Owen noted how inspiring it was to see so many young learners embracing the challenge. He congratulated all the students and schools involved, highlighting the importance of education and literacy, especially fitting as Rotary’s September theme is Basic Education and Literacy.
It was a wonderful opportunity for CMIRC to support education while celebrating the achievements of Chiang Mai’s youth.
