Rotary Youth Exchange Opportunity for Northern Thai High School Students

Updated: May 18

Do you know a high school student (ages 15–18) in Northern Thailand who’s eager to experience another culture and language for an academic year?

The Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) Program, run by Rotary International, offers students the chance to live and study abroad, build leadership skills, and make lifelong friendships — all while promoting peace through cultural understanding.

Since 1929, RYE has enabled thousands of students to explore new cultures, with over 9,000 students participating each year in more than 100 countries. This year marks the 50th anniversary of RYE as an official Rotary program.

Our district, Rotary District 3360 (Northern Thailand), offers long-term exchanges lasting one academic year. Students attend local schools, live with host families, and engage with their host Rotary Clubs. Room, board, and school fees are covered; families are responsible for round-trip airfare, travel insurance, and travel documents.

In 2024–25, our students are studying in France, Germany, Taiwan, and the United States. For 2025–26, we’re excited to add Argentina to the list! We also host students from all these countries.

We’re currently seeking:

  • Thai students to join the 2026–27 Rotary Youth Exchange Program (applications due mid-October 2025)

  • Northern Thai Rotary families interested in hosting international students
