Kindness Across Generations at Dok Kaew Gardens

Updated: 3 hours ago

As part of UCIS’s “100 Ways to Show Kindness” initiative, members of the INTERACT Club and Early Act Club visited Dok Kaew Gardens at the McKean Senior Center for a meaningful day of service, connection, and compassion.

The occasion was made even more special as it also helped mark the 12th anniversary of CMIRC, their sponsor club.

During the visit, students spent time with elderly residents, sharing gifts, smiles, conversations, and performances that brought joy to everyone present. Musical selections and a graceful ballet performance added warmth to the occasion, helping transform the visit into a celebration of kindness and human connection.

The experience also gave students an opportunity to grow in confidence, teamwork, empathy, and respect for others. By serving across generations, they were able to put Rotary values into action in a way that was both personal and memorable. It was a beautiful reminder that kindness has no age limit and that service often begins with simply showing up with care.
