Just About Ready to Jump into the Water

Chiang Mai International Rotary Club (CMIRC) - Kru Payu Children’s Water Safety and Drowning Prevention Program (CWSDPP)

Great news about the CWSDPP. We just heard from the Chiang Mai Municipal Schools, and they are ready to schedule eight of the eleven schools for the first semester of this school year, which ends in October and the additional three schools in the second semester. We estimate 600 4th and 5th graders will complete the Chiang Mai survival swim and water safety course this school year.

We have also meet with the Phrao team led by our Warm Heart partners Evelind Schecter and Michael Shafer. They are pictured receiving the Rotary medals we give to each child who completes the swim course. They expect 400 4th and 5th graders will complete the survival swim and water safety course this year. in Phrao.

Finally, we’d like to take this opportunity to recognize the generous support of our partners, sponsors and donors, so below is a list of these generous organizations! This year we want to especially thank them for their patience as we have faced so many delays.

Special thanks also to individual donors Richard Murray and an anonymous donor, and for the continued support from Ian Bushell. If you wish to help, please contact Project Champion John Schorr at watersafety@cmirotary.org for more information.
