The Chiang Mai International Rotary Club, in collaboration with Rotary District D3360, has played a pivotal role in establishing a new Sister Cities relationship between Austin, Texas, USA, and Chiang Mai. The inaugural Chiang Mai event is scheduled for Wednesday, February 7, starting with exhibits at 11 am and the main program kicking off at 5 pm until 9 pm at One Nimman Court. We are delighted to share that CMIRC and Rotary District 3360 have secured a booth for the event.
The program promises an exciting lineup, featuring speeches by notable figures such as the US Ambassador to Thailand, the Governor of Chiang Mai, the Mayor of Chiang Mai, a special video message from the Mayor of Austin, and more. Lisa Buzenas, the US Chiang Mai Consul General, has spearheaded this initiative. She and her team will be present, joined by esteemed local residents and representatives.
The celebration will be a delightful mix of BBQ, Tex-Mex, and Thai food booths, accompanied by line dancing, traditional Thai dance performances, and other entertainment. The event is open to everyone, so if you reside in Chiang Mai, we invite you to join us and help spread the word.
