Recently, members of CMIRC participated in an online multi-week cultural sharing course with students of BEAM Education Foundation. A follow-up survey of students and volunteers showed the course to be an outstanding success. So, a new on-line cultural sharing course is being planned for March 2023.
As CMIRC Project Champion during these last few years, I have seen BEAM go through some challenging times to achieve their goals. Not only did they succeed, but exceeded their goals to the benefit of both students and the BEAM Education Foundation. In going forward, they have adjusted IT equipment, supporting students going to university and studying for GED exams.
In this new Rotary Year, I will be turning leadership of this project over to Gary Herman and wish him all the success and fun that comes with being the Project Champion for BEAM.
