July 2023: Heartwarming Moments and Exciting Plans at B.K. Kee House

July 2023 at the Burma Children Medical Fund B.K. Kee Patient House was filled with heartwarming moments and exciting plans! We changed our visit days back to Sundays and had two visits.

During our first visit, six patients, nine caregivers, and three staff members greeted us. The pleasant surprise of having Intern Diana with us for one more Sunday added to the joy. We also welcomed future Rotarian Keith Bennett and his friend Florent Guiliani as new visitors. Ken, who will join our club in August, donated a printer and stayed to set it up with the office computer. While the number of long-term patients has reduced, we've seen an increase in new patients arriving weekly. Bingo brought us all together, and the laughter and camaraderie filled the air.

On another Sunday, July 30, we started our day with a breakfast meeting to plan the much-anticipated Christmas party. Our Rotarians Nick Dale and Bill Pierce came up with fantastic ideas. Though I'll be away, Bill graciously offered to host the party, making it an event to remember!

We've reinstated providing sanitary kits for new patients, adding a personal touch with small school backpacks they can decorate and take home.

The highlight of July 30 was our fun "B.K. Kee's Got Talent." Laughter echoed through the house as participants showcased their talents to win treats.

Excitement buzzed as we welcomed new staff volunteer, Molly, fluent in Burmese and English. We're thrilled to have her on board at B.K. Kee.

July was a month of connection, giving, and creating lasting memories. We can't wait to continue our mission, making each visit more meaningful and exciting!
