Foundation Update: Global Grants Continue to Support WASH and Community Development

CMIRC’s Foundation work continues to move forward through partnerships with Rotary clubs in the United States and South Korea, along with implementation support from the Integrated Tribal Development Foundation (ITDF). Several Global Grants are helping extend CMIRC’s Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene work and support broader community development and health goals.

GG2233068, in partnership with Fig Garden Rotary Club and other partner clubs, is a WASH project with a total value of US$330,000. Implementation is now complete, and the closing report is being finalized for submission to The Rotary Foundation.

GG2574718, supported by Rotary clubs from Jeju Island, South Korea, is a WASH project valued at US$35,796. This grant has been approved and is now underway. A companion Jeju Island grant, GG2574768, valued at US$31,255, has also been approved, with final funding still pending.

Another important initiative, GG2687789, is the Brighter Tomorrow Scholarship, a US$30,000 grant supporting Rotary’s Community Economic Development and Disease Prevention goals. The application has been submitted, with funding commitments and the Memorandum of Understanding in place, and is now awaiting review and approval by The Rotary Foundation.

We also extend congratulations to Rotary District 7020 and HANWASH, who were named the 2026 Programs of Scale recipient for Collaboration for Sustainable Water and Sanitation Systems in Haiti. CMIRC and ITDF were proud to have been one of three global finalists this year, a recognition that reflects the strength and impact of our shared WASH work.
